Blake Lively’s Sister Robyn Reacts to Comment About “Negative Voices” Amid Online Criticism

Amid rumors alleging drama between the Gossip Girl alum and It Ends with Us’ director Justin Baldoni, Blake’s older sister reacted to a fan’s supportive comment.
“Blake is a lovely human being!” The fan wrote under Robyn’s Aug. 25 Instagram post. “I hope she knows that the multitudes of people who love her is so much greater than the negative voices. Happy Birthday Blake!!”
And Robyn couldn’t leave the fan’s encouraging words unanswered, writing back, “Thank you for this.”
Blake—who celebrated her 37th birthday with husband Ryan Reynolds and pals Taylor Swift, Gigi Hadid and more in Rhode Island Aug. 25—has been maintaining a lower profile amid negative social media backlash since It Ends with Us hit theaters earlier this month.
Rumors of an alleged rift between Blake and Justin began circulating on social media shortly after the Colleen Hoover adaptation’s New York premiere Aug. 6.
During the event, Justin, who directed and starred as Ryle in the film, was noticeably separate from the author and the rest of the cast—which included Blake as well as Brandon Sklenar, Jenny Slate, Hasan Minhaj and Isabela Ferrer.
As fans speculated the root of the rift over the following days, the cast remained relatively mum about any alleged beef. However, Justin did open up on how Blake—who was a producer on the film—was very hands-on in the production.
“She was extremely involved, and she really made the film better,” Justin told Access Hollywood Aug. 7. “There were many instances where I honestly just tried to get out of the way and let her take the lead.”
Indeed, Blake also opened up on some of the creative decisions she made throughout the film’s production, including having her husband Ryan—with whom she shares kids James, 9, Inez, 7, Betty, 4, and Olin, born in 2023—write a scene in the film.
“The iconic rooftop scene, my husband actually wrote it," Blake previously told E! News. “He works on everything I do. I work on everything he does. So his wins, his celebrations are mine and mine are his.”
And while some fans have continued to pile on speculation surrounding Blake overstepping on some of the filming decisions, the 37-year-old has plenty of people in her corner. In addition to the fan supporting her on Robyn’s post, Brandon—who plays Atlas in the film—also recently clapped back at her haters.
“Vilifying women who put so much of their heart and soul into making this film because they believe so strongly in its message seems counterproductive and detracts from what the film is about,” Brandon wrote in an Aug. 21 Instagram post. “It is, in fact, the opposite of the point.”
